This youtube video suggests there is a speed limiter in place and there is a way to bypass it. Have not tried it yet, but wanted to get everyone's thoughts.

I heard it was not a speed governor but a thermal governor.

slowrey, you could be right, I haven't heard much more about this other than it seems to have mixed results. If indeed a thermal governor, we wouldn't want to remove this safety switch as it would most certainly harm the motor. Speed governor is one thing, but thermal governor is totally different story.

I bet you its not a speed limiter, My scooter does 21 MPH out of the box, just not on the speedometer, measure it with a GPS app on your phone going down hill and you'll see. The scooter definitely got regen brakes too flip it upside down and test it , front wheel will brake when you hit the lever.
